Suresh Raj's dreadful nepotism

There is no denying the fact that the Suresh Raj and his family members are trailblazers of organized corruption, in terms of magnitude, unprecedented in the history of Nepal. They do not spare any chance, be it of buying toiletries, furniture, stationeries, or be it of land and construction materials. Of late, Suresh Raj and his regime have targeted the construction processes for garnering more money. They have extorted money, looted KU and seized the property of KU for their personal benefits. As a result, the families of Suresh Raj and Sitaram are living quite a luxurious life while forcing ordinary faculties to manage with great difficulty. Hundreds of staffs of KU have been deprived following the corrupt practices of Suresh since 1991. The violence, intimidations, threats and coercing of KU staffs has increased especially in the last six months. The manner in which the Suresh Raj and his groups have unleashed atrocities against innocent members of KU also indicates that Suresh Raj is challenging the state on a different plane.

Most of the affected members of the atrocities of Suresh Raj hail from the amongst the administrative staffs. These members have always worked hard and did their work dutifully. Though they are entitled to organizational rights without anybody’s mercy, they are yet to get it in KU. Normally, in any University, organizational rights of staffs are never a concern of any vice-chancellor. Now, when the members of KU staff started to raise their demands, Suresh Raj has started to take it as a personal attack on him. It is estimated that Suresh Raj wants to crush every voice of opposition against him as a vengeance against possible abolition of Monarchy in Nepal. The number of articles and interviews Suresh Raj has published are mere hogwash as his prime-concern is to model new Royalty in KU. Suresh Raj has always remained Mandale in his life and he would go to victimize any faculty member or staff as revenge against restoration of Lokatantra in Nepal.

Though, Suresh Raj wants to pay his obeisance to Monarchy in Nepal, yet we caution him not to adopt terror tactics in KU, as it will lead the KU nowhere. Suresh Raj must respect the rights of faculties and staffs as per the UN charter. But the question at hand is what should we do with Suresh Raj and his families for untimely death of Buddhi Bahadur Biswokarma? Terminated faculty members can be reinstated but no dead can ever be enlivened. The family of Buddhi Bahadur Biswokarma has been severely affected by unwarranted threats of Suresh Raj and Bhola Thapa, which resulted into his untimely death. The threats of Suresh Raj are flying thick and thin against other staffs and faculties also against the norms of academia. The Suresh Raj group is fighting a losing battle and that is why they have resorted to extreme tactics. Now Dalit Commission and National Human Rights Commission of Nepal must take the incidents of KU seriously. The government should also gear up to protect the members of KU.
